Ben and Will.

Remember when Americans had freedom of speech?

Ben and Will (age 18 and 19) and their friend were arrested and held for yelling "No More Years" outside a fire-station in Queens that Bush was scheduled to visit. (Bush supporters also were gathered there, shouting "Four More Years.")

Ben and Will did nothing wrong.  The police and Secret Service would not even tell them why they were arrested at first. (Eventually they were falsely charged with disorderly conduct and shouting, "F--k Bush," which they didn't say, but which is protected speech anyway. You know, the word Dick Cheney used in the Senate).

The Secret Service interrogated Ben and Will, they spent the night in jail, and were released 19 hours later!

“NO MORE YEARS!”

Courtesy, professionalism, and respect? Not for Bush protesters.

NYPD’s vehicles say “Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respect.”  The false arrests of law-abiding protesters this week didn’t meet that standard.
